When the trigger is squeezed, a beam of gas is released from the tank, which turns into active foam that settles on the attacker's face irritating his eyes and respiratory tract. The foam is difficult to get rid of and therefore remains active for a longer period of time.

Foam nozzle gases have a shorter range than stream type gases. Effective range is up to approximately 3 meters.

Gas fired in the form of foam allows the use of gas indoors without the risk of affecting the intervening person as in the case of spray.
